Owen Sound Police said at a news conference Tuesday evening that all efforts to locate a missing Canadian soldier were being expanded.

Deputy Chief Vince Wurfel said Provincial police and the Canadian Armed Forces are helping with efforts to locate 19-year-old Andrew Fitzgerald.

Fitzgerald is from Nova Scotia and was last seen around 4:30 Saturday morning at the corner of 16th Street East and 9th Avenue in Owen Sound.

He’s described as white 6’ 2” (188cm), 180 lbs. (82kg) with a lean muscular build and short brown hair.

Fitzgerald was last seen wearing a black baseball hat, red plaid shirt, beige shorts and black skateboarding-style shoes.

The joint forces search team is not asking for volunteers from the community at this time.
