INDORE: A woman was brutally murdered allegedly by her husband following a tiff here in Green Park colony in Chandan Nagar area late on Saturday.
Body of the 37-year-old woman, identified as Renu Choudhary was found with severe head injuries at her house around 2.30am by her elder son Raja, 12, Chandan Nagar police said.
According to police, Renu’s husband Rakesh Choudhary, who is a driver by profession, fled the scene soon after committing the crime.
He is said to have hit Renu with a blunt object on her head which killed her.
Kailash had married Renu around 13 years ago and they have two sons aged 12 and 8 respectively.
The couple, residents of Allahabad, had migrated to the city a month ago and had been living at a rented accommodation at Green Park colony, said police.
The locals and family members claimed that Kailash suspected Reenu of infidelity and that might have been the reason behind the crime.
The locals claimed that when the elder son Raja woke up in the night, he found that his mother was lying on the floor in the adjoining room in a pool of blood. He tried to wake her up but to no avail. He then searched for his father in the house and when he did not find him, he rushed to inform the neighbours that his mother was hurt.

“The elder son Raja knocked our door late at night. He was very scared. He informed us that Reenu was lying unconscious in the room and she was bleeding,” said a neighbour Ramesh Patil while speaking to TOI.
“When all of us rushed to the house, we found out that Reenu was lying in a pool of blood and the younger son was crying near her. The furniture of the house was disturbed. We were planning on taking her to the hospital for treatment but Reenu had already succumbed,” said Patil.
“Though the man managed to flee the house after committing the crime, a case under section 302 (murder) of Indian Penal Code was registered against him and a manhunt has been launched to arrest him. He will be arrested at the earliest,” said Rupesh Dwivedi, ASP.
Police are questioning the children and the other family members to know the exact cause of the incident and further investigations in the case are on, said Yogesh Singh Tomar, Chandan Nagar police station in-charge.
