Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson exec produces and stars in “Power,” Starz‘s hit breakout drama. Now in its third season, “Power” has become the pay-cabler’s most successful series, opening its summer season with a record audience. The drama moved to Sunday nights for Season 3, marking a new scheduling move for Starz, which has proven to have paid off.
“From the beginning, I was like, ‘This is it.’ I anticipate the projects that I work on being a hit,” Jackson told Variety in an interview conducted in our Los Angeles headquarters, prior to the series’ Season 3 premiere.
“I expect to continue success with this project, and if it didn’t continue to go up, I’d be like, ‘What’s wrong with these people?'” Jackson said with a laugh. “It’s better than it was last season! What’s the problem? I expect it to get bigger.”
Jackson’s premonition was correct, as “Power” — which is heading into its fifth episode this Sunday — is averaging around 2 million viewers for the current season, up from Season 2.

When asked how many more seasons he foresees “Power” airing, Jackson quipped: “My lucky number is seven… it’s doable, but I’m not sure if Kanan can survive for seven seasons!”
Good news for fans: “Power” has already been renewed for a fourth and fifth season.
