Surgeons’ conference held

The 40th annual conference of Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry chapter of the Association of Surgeons of India, TN and P ASICON 2016, was held at Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College here on Saturday.

Minister for Public Works, Highways and Minor Ports Edappadi K. Palaniswami inaugurated the conference in the presence of District Collector V. Sampath, Dr. Suresh Vasistha, president of the association, Dr. S. Geethalakshmi, Vice-Chancellor, Dr. MGR Medical University and Dr. Suresh Venkatachalam, chairman of the association.

The conference saw hundreds of delegates attending live open, laparoscopic and endoscopic workshop at the Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital on Friday with experts giving the latest in surgeries. Scientific sessions and workshops were also held during the occasion.

The Minster released the conference souvenir on the occasion.

The 13th annual general body meeting and the valediction would be held on Sunday.

Later, the Minister laid the foundation stone for the construction of nurse quarters for 541 sq m at a total cost of Rs. 8.12 crore on the college premises.
