Bengaluru: Three of family held for theft

Based on the CCTV footage, the police managed to identify Alia, who had a similar case registered against her in 2014.

BENGALURU: The commercial street police have arrested a family of three, including a 67 year old woman, her daughter and grandson for stealing gold jewellery from shops by posing as customers.

After the arrest of Alia Begum (67), Sabira Banu (50) and Imran Pasha (20), the Commercial Street police have solved three theft cases reported in RT Nagar and Commercial Street police stations.

According to the police, Alia Begum was living with her daughter Sabira, who is a widow and grandson Imran Pasha, an autorikshaw-driver. Imran would ferry them to the jewellery shops where they would steal the valuables by posing as buyers and diverting the attention of the staff.

Based on the CCTV footage, the police managed to identify Alia, who had a similar case registered against her in 2014. With the help of credible information and scanning their records, the Commercial Street police arrested them.
