BCCI president and Hamirpuri MP Anurag Thakur today said liquor and mining mafias were proliferating in the state.
The Hamirpur MP said they were having a field day, while the common man was suffering owing to poor governance and corruption.
He was addressing a gathering during the ‘Tiranga Yatra’ at Paonta Sahib. Anurag said: “The country and the people have benefitted immensely in the two-year rule of the Central government where 70-pro people initiatives were introduced. This vision and approach will make the country a superpower in the years to come.”
He said: “It is unfortunate that despite the introduction of several progressive initiatives by the Central government, the Congress in the state had miserably failed to implement social welfare schemes successfully.”
“Drug, liquor and mining mafias are looting the state’s wealth under the leadership of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh. This is evident from the significant drop in the ranking of the state which was earlier the number 1 with over 75 awards. It is now at the 22nd position with debts over Rs 4,5384 crore,” he said.
“With farmers under stress, unemployment at its peak, failed governance and no vision, the Congress government has let down the state and its people,” said Anurag.
He said the BJP would emerge victorious in the next Vidhan Sabha poll.
The Hamirpur MP announced to construct a Rs 3-crore stadium at Paonta Sahib.
