TSR to seek CSR funds for villages’development

Rajya Sabha member T. Subbarami Reddy on Saturday said he would seek funding under CSR from various industries to improve facilities in 100 villages spread over North Andhra.

The amount mobilised from the industries would be spent on improving drinking water, school infrastructure, sanitation and LED lighting. During the first year, 100 villages in Jami, Vepada, Bhimili, Kothavalasa, Anandapuram, Padmanabham, S. Kota and other mandals will be covered.

Mr. Reddy said due to his efforts, Rs.75 crore was released by various industries under CSR for development of King George Hospital.

He said the trust run by him would organise a function in the city on Sunday to celebrate the health and other services rendered by it in the slum areas of the city for past 20 years.

City Congress president Behera Bhaskar Rao and City Mahila Congress president Pedada Ramani Kumari were present.
