Rajnath Singh visits leader in ICU
Ghaziabad: Union home minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday visited Fortis Hospital in Noida to enquire about the condition of BJP leader Brijpal Teotia who is in the ICU for treatment of bullet injuries. Singh was accompanied by Gautam Buddh Nagar MP Dr Mahesh Sharma and Noida MLA Vimla Batham.
The senior BJP leaders were among a large number of party leaders and police officers who streamed in and out of the hospital on Saturday to visit Teotia and his family members.

Teotia’s younger brother, Vikas, told TOI that Rajnath Singh was briefed by the doctors about the progress in Teotia’s condition. “The home minister enquired about the wellbeing of our family members after the attack. Apart from getting briefed on my brother’s condition, he also asked about the progress in the investigation of the case. Doctors in the hospital have told us that the patient has shown gradual signs of improvement over the past two days,” Vikas said.
The visitors included Ghaziabad BJP leader Ramesh Chand Tomar and former UP irrigation minister Nawab Singh Nagar of the BJP.
Fortis Hospital released a health bulletin on Teotia on Saturday evening, which said that the patient was under the observation of doctors.
“Patient Brijpal Teotia continues to be in a critical but stable condition. Our doctors are closely monitoring him and are doing their best,” the statement said.
Ghaziabad police have tightened the security cover for Teotia’s family members since Friday. A huge posse of cops has been deployed outside the residential buildings of Brijpal Teotia and his brother, Vikas, which are both located in the upscale Kavi Nagar area. Security personnel of the Provincial Armed Constabulary have also been deployed outside Brijpal Teotia’s house.
