VADODARA: After cricketer Irfan Pathan, Bollywood singer Bhoomi Trivedi will join the Mission Clean Vadodara launched by the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC). Trivedi has recorded a video for the cleanliness campaign that will be released on Independence Day.
Trivedi will be seen spreading a message of keeping the city free of garbage and garbage bins.
In a teaser of the video circulated on the social media Trivedi asks the viewers if they want to know a simple formula to do this.
Trivedi was abroad and returned to the city earlier this week. But she had expressed her commitment for the video even when she was not in the city and recorded it soon after reaching here. The video will be screened at movie theaters and cable TV networks.
Pathan, the Baroda Ranji skipper, had recorded a short video with the punchline ‘Irfan ka game plan, dil se samman’, to encourage citizens to recognise and reward sanitation workers. Pathan had asked citizens to record videos expressing gratitude to these workers and share these on the social media.
The video was launched on August 1 at an event to kick off a series of programmes by schools and other organisations to felicitate sanitation workers. The events have been christened as ‘Swachhta Mitra Sanman’.
On August 15, the VMC is also expected to launch a revamped door-to-door waste collection system. The system is aimed at ensuring that no garbage is disposed in the open.
