20 schools participate in patriotic song contest

Patna: Popular patriotic songs buzzed on the campus as students of more than 20 city schools participated in an interschool patriotic songs competition held at St Xavier’s High School (SXHS) on Saturday.
The contest was a part of the patriotic week celebrations underway at the St Xavier’s ahead of Independence Day. The students took active part in the event which was judged by Fr Arun Ignatius, Fr Dynasius Rashiquna and Edward Raphael.Doordarshan Patna director P N Singh was the chief guest on the occasion. He congratulated the students for the melodious show. The programme was organized under the guidance of school vice-principal Fr Manish Osta.
‘Goonj’ at PWC: A group dance, qawwali and a streetplay were the highlights of Independence Day programme ‘Goonj’ organized at Patna Women’s College on Saturday. College principal Sr M Jessie appreciated the efforts of the students and asked them to exercise “responsible freedom”. The event was anchored by Shivani Sinha and Shweta Bharti. Students of Magadh Mahila College also organized a patriotic function, ‘Azadi’, on their college campus on Saturday.
SXCE: Teacher trainees of St Xavier’s College of Education on Saturday elected a student council for officiating various events in the college. The students who made it to the council include Ignatius Xavier, Nishi Ignatius, Shubham Lawrence Thakur, Sushila Telra, Nisha Rani, Chandan Kumar, Kripa, Anuj Biswas, Nisha Kumari, Nitesh Kumar Laha, Nitish Kumar, Rajeshwari Ranjan, Pragya, Aditya Kumar Shahi, Sanjeevan Kumar and Shusmita Anand.
Mamas Club: Members of Mamas Club of Notre Dame Academy celebrated Sawan Milan amid fun and folic on Saturday. The members were dressed in green and orange outfits and participated in various games like ‘antrakshree’ and ‘Housie’.
