Ireland's first ever female track cyclist Shannon McCurley has exited the Olympics in the first round stage of the women's keirin competition at the Rio Olympic velodrome.

The 24-year-old Australian-born Irishwoman was was fifth in her first-round heat, dropping into the repechage.
