Man arrested for faking his abduction, murder

The accused Dharmendra Kumar (35) allegedly went missing on August 7 and his blood stained Toyata Etios car was found along the Noida Greater Noida Expressway. Police had arrested four persons in this regard. However, later it came to light that the victim had faked the plot to frame four persons in a case over personal rivalry.

NOIDA: A 35-year old man was arrested for faking his abduction and murder in Noida. The accused Dharmendra Kumar (35) allegedly went missing on August 7 and his blood stained Toyata Etios car was found along the Noida Greater Noida Expressway. Police had arrested four persons in this regard. However, later it came to light that the victim had faked the plot to frame four persons in a case over personal rivalry.
Gaurav Grover, assistant superintendent of police, Noida, said that the accused Dharmendra Kumar is a native of Kasganj.
He was presently staying on a rented accommodation with his family in Wajidpur Village under Expressway police station. He worked as a driver with a private company in Noida. On August 8, Dharmendra's wife Sharda Devi registered a police case about alleged abduction of her husband.
Grover said that the police team swung into action and launched a search. “We found the Toyata Etios abandoned along the Noida-Greater Noida expressway at night. There were blood stains at the seats of the car. We also found a sharp knife from the car. The knife also had blood stains. The car was also having the keys,” Grover said.
Police seized the car and registered a case of murder against four persons based on the statement of Sharda. The complainant had alleged that her husband had a heated argument with four persons –Puneet, Navneet, Ajay and one unnamed person, previous night. She alleged that the four accused had abducted and murdered her husband. They police arrested all the accused but they claimed that they had no role in the abduction.
Police said that on Friday night Dharmendra resurfaced in Ghaziabad where a police team detained him. He first informed police that he was abducted by four persons. Grover said that during sustained interrogation, Dharmendra broke down and revealed that he had faked the plot abduction and murder plot to frame four persons with whom he had personal enmity.
The accused also revealed that he went to the local market and bought a knife and blood of goat from a meat shop. “He faked the plot and abandoned the vehicle at the e-way. He then fled to Delhi and Amritsar. He returned to Ghaziabad to a relative’s place where he was arrested,” said police.
The police registered a case under Section 420, 194 and 195 of IPC for cheating and giving false statements against the accused driver. He was produced in court and sent to jail on Saturday.
