Midfielder Godfred Donsah came off the bench in Bologna's 2-0 win over Trapani in the Coppa Italia third round on Friday night.
Donsah replaced Pulgar on 76 minutes as Roberto Donadoni's side won their first competitive match of the season.
Bologna took the lead through Ladislav Krejci on 42 minutes and just two minutes after the break Saphir Taider.
