Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that the state government would file an appeal in Supreme Court against the decision of Punjab and Haryana High Court on the appointment of Chief Parliamentary Secretaries (CPSs) in the state.Interacting with the media persons on the sidelines of Sangat Darshan program in Adampur assembly segment here today, the Chief Minister said that the state government was examining the verdict given by the Punjab and Haryana High Court and an appeal would be filed in the Apex Court against this decision. Mr. Badal said that he had already asked the Advocate General of state to study the entire judgement and take appropriate action as per legal provisions within the ambit of law. “Since the honourable High Court has given the decision yesterday so it’s too early to make any comment on it but we will definitely move to Apex court after studying the case with due deliberations”, he added.

Replying to another query, the Chief Minister said that Captain Amarinder Singh's sudden love for farmers of state was momentary and confined upto state assembly polls. He said it was on record that Captain was having anti-farmer mindset, which has been reflected from his policies and attitude time and again. Mr. Badal reminded the people that on one hand SAD-BJP alliance had been providing free power to farmers but on the other during his regime Amarinder had discontinued this thereby putting enormous burden on farmers. Likewise, he said that the state Congress Chief was a part and parcel of the conspiracy to rob waters of state by constructing Satluj Yamuna Link canal hatched by his party. The Chief Minister said that Captain was issuing baseless statements on each and every issue. Mr. Badal cautioned the people that God forbid if Captain returns to power in the state then he would withdraw the facility of free power being given to people in the state. “Captain and Congress are responsible for plight of farming community whereas we have always extended a helping hand to our food growers”, he added. On another query, the Chief Minister solicited fulsome support and cooperation from the general public to wean away the menace of drugs from the state. He said that state government has already taken several path breaking initiatives to curb this menace.Replying to another query, the Chief Minister said that the modernisation of Bhogpur Cooperative Sugar Mill was on top priority of the state government. Mr. Badal said that the state government was duty-bound for helping the cane growers of the region for which this Mill could play an important role.

Earlier addressing the public gatherings in village Karari, Laroi, Bhatnoora Loobaana and others, the Chief Minister, while highlighting the significance of Sangat Darshans, said that it was the flagship program of SAD-BJP alliance government aimed at ensuring the well being of every strata of society. He said that this was a pro-people exercise being conducted thoroughly in a transparent manner. However, Mr. Badal said that envy of development and welfare of people the leaders from opposition parties have always opposed this move. The Chief Minister said that this program finds no parallel across the country as no other Chief Minister bothers to spare so much time for the people by solving their problems at their doorsteps. Mr. Badal said that this program helps in quick resolution of public problems on one hand besides judging the performance of the government officers/officials on the other. “There is no political motive behind this program and our sole aim is resolve the problems of people along with ensuring holistic development of villages” he added. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mr. Pawan Kumar Teenu, MLA Bibi Jagir Kaur, his Joint Special Principal Secretary Mr. Kumar Amit, Inspector General of Police Mr. Lok Nath Aangra, Deputy Commissioner Mr. KK Yadav and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Harmohan Singh.
