In the upcoming Soodhu Vadhu , Unni Mukundan plays a character who has gone astray in Bangkok. Unaware of his involvement with the underworld, his younger brother (played by Rahul Madhav) and mother travel to Bangkok in search of him. Unexpectedly, they meet Richa Panai, who stops them from meeting Unni. “In this action thriller, the climax is where everything — betrayal, family bonding, romance, sacrifice and jealousy — come into play,” says executive producer Easwar Babu.

Cop act

Sri Ganesh, the finalist of Naalaya Iyakunar ‘s Season 3, and an erstwhile assistant of director Mysskin, is coming up with a new-age cop thriller, 8 Thottakkal that marks the debut of newcomer Vetri and also features Malayalam actress Aparna Balamurali ( Maheshinte Prathikaaram ). The film is expected to roll from the end of August. “It will be an intense crime thriller that deals with everyday issues,” says Sri Ganesh. Million dollar baby

Million dollar baby

Director S. Mohan has scripted a sports drama, Yaar Antha Ponnu , about a poor small-town girl from interior Tamil Nadu. The film unfolds the story of how this girl (played by Devika) goes to Malaysia for a job, and how she is spotted by a boxer (new face Siddarth), who upon discovering her talent, puts her on to a veteran boxer (played by Dinesh Panicker) for training. “The film is about her success story against several odds,” says executive producer Ashwini Kumar, who plays the villain in Yaar Antha Ponnu . Shooting for the film begins in September.
