Graham Norton has shared his congratulations with the O’Donovan brothers on their Olympic win.

The Cork-born comedian took to Twitter to applaud Paul and Gary O’Donovan who brought home Ireland’s first ever Olympic medal in rowing.

“Huge congrats to the O’Donovan brothers from Skibbereen!” he wrote, including the hashtag #PullLikeADog.

The 53-year-old was, of course, referring to the quote that has struck the nation, said by Paul on their Olympic strategy before the final: “Close the eyes and pull like a dog.”

Lest be forgotten their Olympic meal of choice, a good plate of "shteak and shpuds."

The charismatic brothers came second in the men’s lightweight double sculls final in Rio on Friday.

Their good humour throughout the tournament has charmed the country, with Michael D. Higgins saying the pair “captured the nation’s imagination.”
