LUCKNOW: In a bid to gain foothold in UP’s political terrain, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Musilmeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi would be holding hectic parleys with his party workers at the Convention Centre on Saturday. The AIMIM’s programme would continue of Sunday as well. While Owaisi would be addressing his party workers in the vicinity of river Gomti, BJP national president is likely to offer floral tributes to the revolutionaries of the freedom struggle at the famous Kakori Smarak (located in Kakori).
Giving further details about Saturday’s programme, AIMIM’s UP convenor Shaukat Ali said that the party would deliberate upon its future course of action during the two-day event.
Subsequently, the party is planning to hold two political rallies – one in Faizabad, and the other in Sultanpur on August 17. “However, the permission for both the rallies is still awaited,” Shaukat Ali said.
Another senior party leader Afsar Mehmood said that the main agenda of Owaisi’s visit would be to deliberate the party’s strategy for the 2017 assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh. “Chances of discussing the prospects of forming a common political platform of like-minded Muslim parties to take on the national and regional political parties is also on the cards,” he said.
