VHP leader alleges protocol violation

August 13, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 09:50 am IST - SRISAILAM:

International president of Viswa Hindu Parishad G. Raghava Reddy was put to hardship when he visited the Srisailam temple on Thursday night as the revenue officials and the Srisailam temple authorities ignored the protocol rules, VHP State treasurer Pranesh said on Friday.

Mr. Raghava Reddy had to wait at the temple entrance for about half an hour, purchase a special darshan ticket and made to wait again for another half an hour near the northern gopuram before being allowed to have darshan of the presiding deities, Mr. Pranesh told newsmen at Srisailam. He was not offered prasadam later, Mr. Pranesh said.

As per protocol, the chief of VHP, one of the largest dharmic organisations, must be received with all temple honours.

Peeved by the neglect of officials and non-adherence of protocol, Mr. Raghava Reddy left Srisailam last night without attending the Krishna Pushkaram inauguration on Friday.
