HYDERABAD: The place near
Millennium Township where gangster
Nayeemuddin was gunned down by the
Telangana police last Monday has been declared as belonging to
Pasha, who is former
Naxalite Seshanna and a close associate of the slain renegade Maoist.
It was from his residence that police recovered two AK-47s, apart from the one in possession of Nayeem.
Seshanna also happens to be the prime conspirator in the 2011 elimination of
Patola Govardan Reddy, an ex-Naxalite and rival gangster of Nayeem.
Both
Nayeem and Seshanna had together met a third accused in
Dilsukhnagar and made a plan to eliminate
Govardhan.
As of now, Seshanna continues to be at large and one cannot rule out whether the police used him to lay a trap to call Nayeem to
Shadnagar, where the gangster was killed. Since the first day of the encounter, cops have been refusing to divulge details about Pasha. Pressed for an answer, deputy inspector general of police (
Hyderabad Range)
Akun Sabarwal merely said: "No comments."
It is now emerging that Nayeem and Seshanna had established a den in
Raipur,
Chhattisgarh. The den is suspected to have been used to meet policemen and procure weapons from various local sources.
"
Yes, Nayeem has a den in Raipur and we will be in a position to tell about it only after a day or two. In Chhattisgarh, he also owns huge property apart from the den," an official in the newly-formed
Special Investigation Team said.
Officials said that Nayeem kept many of his properties in the name of his brother in law
Fahim, one of the arrested woman,
Farhana, who used to be his body guard, former Naxalite Seshanna, and henchmen Sada, Kareena, Jeba and others working under him.
