Jagriti will present ‘Cardamom’ on August 13, 8 pm and on August 14, 3 pm and 6.30 pm in its premises on Varthur Road.

Written and directed by Hasnain Shaikh, ‘Cardamom’ is an incisive reflection upon contemporary realities.

It is a hilarious take on what happens when a family decides to cohabitate with their soon to be in-laws a week before the wedding.

They could have scarcely imagined the difficulties of such an arrangement. The two progressive families are thrilled to undertake the wedding, but soon discover that there exists convention in the act of being unconventional.

Jagriti will also present ‘I had a dream’ on August 19 and 20, 8pm and on August 21, 3pm and 6.30 pm in its premises. Directed by Shaurya Singh, this remarkable piece revives the ‘Theatre of the Absurd’, it is surreal and it is bold in experimenting with conventions of theatre.

Following the footsteps of masterminds like Samuel Beckett and Eugene Ionesco, they have dared to create a space that can swing one between laughter and sorrow at the same time. A magic potion that delves into the inner conflicts of a man in these modern times. A spectacular blend of sounds, lights, emotions and performances.
