SMYRNA, Ga. — Glock Health, Science and Research Inc. has introduced G-PUR, a dietary supplement described by the company as a “first of its kind.”

G-PUR_Glock HealthGlock Health said G-PUR, which consists of a mineral called clinoptilolite, is being marketed to select pharmacies in the United States.

Used as a natural remedy for centuries, clinoptilolite acts as an ion exchanger and a selective adsorbent, according to Glock. Among its health benefits, G-PUR may bind dietary cholesterol and toxic heavy metals to prevent their absorption into the body. The product also binds microbiological toxins to prevent their absorption into the gastrointestinal tract.

Glock Health noted that it took the company more than a decade to develop a patented process allowing it to prepare clinoptilolite in purified form without reducing G-PUR’s health benefits.

“I have been fascinated by the exceptional and surprising potential of clinoptilolite since the late 1990s. All of us at Glock Health look forward to bringing Glock’s culture of striving for excellence to create beneficial health products that help more people enjoy better health and a sense of well-being,” stated Gaston Glock of Glock Health, Science and Research.

The company said the Food and Drug Administration has released a “No Objection Letter” for G-PUR, enabling G-PUR to be marketed in the United States.

Glock Health, Science & Research Inc., based in Smyrna, Ga., is a subsidiary of Glock Health, Science & Research GmbH, an Austrian company.
