Ashutosh Gowariker's Mohenjo Daro is a Boring Film

Hrithik tries to give an earnest performance but the baggage of a poor story lets him down.

The movie Mohenjo Daro has got to do less with history and more with Gowarikar’s imagination. The film bores you as you sit in the cinema hall for two and a half hours waiting for it to get over. So Mohenjo Daro is a place where nearby villagers go for trade and business. Even Sarman (Hrithik Roshan) goes there once and falls in love with Chaani (Pooja Hegde), there is going to be trouble because the ruler of Mohenjo Daro (Kabir Bedi, with horns) wants his son to get married to Chaani. So Roshan will have to fight it out, literally!

The special effects are tacky and juvenile, this comes at a time when the world has moved to the most sophisticated effects. The kind you see in this film, Snap Chat offers you better ones!

Rahman’s music is strictly okay, the track Tu Hai is nice and that’s the only song that stays with you. The sets look fake and costumes are okay! The film doesn’t hold your attention for long enough and that’s bad!

Today’s movie going audience is not the same as the ones that watched Lagaan in 2001 but the director clearly has not moved on. Being a director’s actor Hrithik tries to give an earnest performance but the baggage of a poor story lets him down. Pooja Hegde is forgettable, this was definitely not a dream launch!

Should you watch it? Yes, you can! When it comes on TV for free!
