Nearly 5 million people attend the Hola Mohalla festival in Punjab’s Anandpur Sahib. Around 200 Langars are held here collectively, the largest among them being the Langar at Shri Keshgarh Sahib. The gigantic food figures involved in this Langar will leave you amazed.

To cook food for the massive number of people, the Gurudwara’s kitchens store:

1. 18,000 Kg of Wheat
2. 29,000 Kg of Pulses
3. 13,000 Kg of Rice
4. 25,700 Kg of Sugar
5. 19,605 Kg of Ghee

The langar hall of the Gurdwara uses 2200 kgs of vegetables during the festival – which is enough to feed an urban household for over 7 years!

It is hard to imagine the enormous amount of effort that goes into preparing food for the sole purpose of ensuring that every visitor is well fed, and don’t have to leave hungry. The hard work and dedication of the heroes working in these MegaKitchens ensure that they achieve such milestones. The driving force behind such MegaKitchens are people who tirelessly and assiduously work behind the scenes, to feed the people of India.
