SC Kari Gowda and GJ Nayak, retired town-planning members of BDA; D Sathyanarayana, retired engineering member, BDA; and MN Shankar Bhat, retired law officer, BDA, have been booked for alleged violations pertaining to Ansal Forte building that has come up on survey No. 16/2 A of Roopena Agrahara. In this case, officials approved the plan in 1995 and renewed it in 1998, though the land had a storm water drain.
An occupancy certificate was issued in 2003. The violation disrupted the flow of water to Madiwala Lake and led to flooding in BTM Layout and Silk Board Junction areas. Ansal Forte owner is also an accused here.
Guruprasad, assistant engineer, BBMP; Shashidhar, additional director, town pl anning, BBMP; BT Mohan Krishna , deputy director, town planning, BBMP; Govindaraju , joint director, town planning (South zone), BBMP; and Chowdegowda , retired additional director, town planning, BBMP, have been booked for alleged violations pertaining to EAPL (Thirumala's Splendour) building on Hosur Road.
K Veerendranath, retired additional director of town planning, BBMP; Mohammed Abdulla Azeem , AEE, BBMP; and G Gurumurthy , AEE, BBMP, have been booked for allegedly allowing a building to come up on KJ Vivan's land (survey No. 10/3) in Nyanappanahalli of Begur hobli in Bengaluru South taluk. Here too, the owner has been booked.
Vijayakumar D Patil and DS Sarvothamaraju , additional directors of town planning in BBMP, have been booked for allegedly approving construction by D Lakkanna and D Shantha in Bommanahalli zone. D Shantha and others have been named owners in the FIR. BBMP superintendent engineer S Mrithyunjaya and joint director (town planning) T Nataraj have been booked for allegedly allowing illegal constructions in Bilekahalli village of Bommanahalli zone. No owner has been named, but the survey number is mentioned.
Liakath and Gangappa, assistant executive engineers, BBMP; Sunitha, assistant engineer, BBMP; Munikrishna, chief engineer, BBMP, have been booked for allegedly allowing constructions in Shubh Enclave on a stretch of storm-water drain between Kasavanahalli and Kaikondrahalli lakes. Shubh Enclave owner has been booked.
