Remove banners, boards in 24 hours or face action, Dindigul advertisers told

The Dindigul Corporation has advised advertisers to remove all advertisement flex banners, hoardings, small thatched banners, advertisement signboards and graffiti on walls, trees and public buildings displayed within the corporation limit immediately failing which Corporation would remove them and collect expenses for removing them from the concerned advertisers, Corporation Commissioner N. Manoharan has cautioned.

In a press release here on Thursday, he said that the Collector did not grant any permission to display signboards or banners till now.

A special team comprising junior engineer and city planning officer has been engaging in this work.

Criminal action would be initiated against persons who displayed banners disrupting vision and camouflaging public places and a fine up to Rs.5,000 would also be slapped on them.

He advised all advertisers to remove their banners and signboards, and frames used for displaying advertisements on their own within the corporation limit in 24 hours.
