Ludhiana: On her maiden visit to Ludhiana as Punjab Congress in-charge, senior Congress leader Asha Kumari met party workers here on Thursday, and came down heavily on the Akali-BJP government. She alleged that evil entities like sand mafia, cable mafia, and the drug network were running under the protection of the present regime, and due to this unholy nexus, the prosperous state of Punjab has been destroyed and pushed to the brink.
She said Punjabis suffering due to such 'atrocities' would teach the Akali-BJP coalition a lesson in the upcoming Vidhan Sabha polls by showing them the door.
She also criticized Aam Admi Party for playing with the sentiments of Punjabis, and said a party whose MLAs indulged in criminal activities did not have the right to contest elections in the state. She urged party workers to work hard for the party, and also gave the slogan of 'Ghar Ghar Congress, Har Ghar Congress'.
Meanwhile, District Congress Committee president Gurpreet Gogi assured the state in-charge that every worker was working tirelessly to secure a big win for the party in the coming elections. Other leaders present in the meeting included MLAs Surinder Dawar and Bharat Bhushan Ashu, president of district women wing Leena Taparia, Hemraj Aggarwal, and Gurmail Pehlwan.
