Girl runs naked to save herself from being gang-raped

A teenage girl managed to escape from three youths in Firozabad on Wednesday, who attempted to gang-rape her by dragging her inside a dilapidated religious structure.

AGRA: A teenage girl managed to escape from three youths in Firozabad on Wednesday, who attempted to gang-rape her by dragging her inside a dilapidated structure.
The girl, 18, who earns her livelihood by begging at Shikohabad railway station, lives with her family near water tank in new Awas Vikas colony, Shikohabad. She was retuning along with her nephew from the railway station to her home on foot at around 11pm when the incident took place.
When the victim reached Subhas tri-section, three youths came to her and offered her to provide food.
When she resisted, the youth took gagged her from behind and took her to nearby dilapidated religious structure, where they tore off her clothes and attempted to rape her.
The victim’s younger nephew tried to help her and shouted for help, but he was kicked back.
Somehow, the victim managed to free herself from trio and ran naked towards the main road shouting for help. Two men on a motorbike saw her and covered her with a shirt.
When the girl narrated the incident to the men, they ran towards dilapidated structure, but the three youths had already fled.
Later the men took the girl to her to family and informed the police.
Following this, the police conducted raids in nearby areas of the Awas Vikas colony and apprehended a youth. The victim identified him.
Speaking to TOI, station officer Pravesh Kumar of Shikohabad said, “Though we have detained a youth, we are still waiting for the written complaint from the girl. Once an FIR is lodged. we will arrest the other two youth as well.”
