Torquay United boss Kevin Nicholson says striker Brett Williams reminds him of former Manchester United and Tottenham forward Dimitar Berbatov.

Williams, 28, moved to Plainmoor this summer after leaving Forest Green.

"You watch him every day in training, the guy is just talented," he said.

"He makes everything looks easy, he's got that way about him, that Berbatov swagger than can sometimes look a bit lazy, but it's just because he's got such confidence in his ability."

Dimitar Berbatov, known for his languid style, played for Tottenham, Manchester United, Fulham and Monaco, as well as scoring 48 times in 78 matches for Bulgaria

Williams has yet top score for his new club, but did hit the bar in the bar with a long-range effort in the 1-0 win over Bromley on Tuesday.

And Nicholson says that if Williams can improve his fitness he will be a force to be reckoned with in the National League.

"I don't think there's anyone in this league with better quality than him," Nicholson added to BBC Sport.

"He's come here and we're asking him to get further and stronger and start chasing things down.

"Down the line he's going to be an absolute machine, because he's going to be asked to chase things that he probably doesn't think he should, because I expect the rest of us to back it up and win the ball higher up the pitch.

"If we do that and get the ball to him in dangerous areas then he's going to score a lot of goals for us this season."
