IB Ministry's decision to wind up AIR Trichy news bulletin draws flak

Tiruchirapalli, Aug 11 (UNI) The decision of Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to wind up the process of broadcasting Tamil news bulletins from All India Radio (AIR) Tiruchirapalli Station has drawn flak from public, as an estimated 42 lakh listeners in the region were all set to miss the nearly 35 years of news programmes.
The Ministry, in its Order of August 9 posted in its official website www.mib.nic.in, stated that some posts of Indian Information Service (IIS) Group-A and Group-B in Head Quarters and Regional News Units (RNU) of Doordarshan and AIR were relocated to various regional centres across the country.
The officers presently posted against the posts which have been relocated to other stations would work at the same station till their further order of posting is issued, it said.
There is no row at position 0.
