Jeweller kills self; blames bookies

JALANDHAR: A local jeweller committed suicide by consuming poison in a hotel at Kartarpur, leaving behind a suicide note in which he blamed bookies for forcing him to take the extreme step.
The deceased, Sanjeev Kumar, said in his suicide note that he was very fond of his two-year-old son, but was left with no option other than ending his own life.
He mentioned that a Mitha Bazaar-based bookie and one Deepak Kumar were tormenting him to pay Rs18 lakh, which he had lost in betting.
In his suicide note Sanjeev had mentioned that once he went into losses, he continued betting with the hope that he would be able to recover his money, but the losses kept piling, and he was unable to pay.
