A dalit man in Morena had to perform funeral of his wife near his house in Parashar Kee Gadhi, a small village in Ambah tehsil of the district on Wednesday because musclemen had encroached upon the crematorium.

BHOPAL: A dalit man in Morena had to perform funeral of his wife near his house in Parashar Kee Gadhi, a small village in Ambah tehsil of the district on Wednesday because musclemen had encroached upon the crematorium.
Sangeeta, wife of Babloo Mahor, died of tuberculosis in Gujarat's Surat, where the family members work as labourers.
Mahor family wanted to perform her funeral in ancestral village Parashar Kee Gadhi.
However, Babloo told media that when the family reached the village, they found musclemen had taken over the funeral ground.
He said that the thugs had converted the funeral ground into a farm field and so, villagers are compelled to perform funeral in their own farm fields whenever there is a death in the village.
As Mahor family didn't own any piece of land, Babloo had to lit pyre of his wife near his house.
