Boulder’s performance-oriented Fringe Festival, which takes place Aug. 17-28, will once again be heralded by the Boulder Family Fringe Festival — a kinder, gentler, but no less inspired day-celebration of creativity and self-expression the weekend before the main event.
Activities in this second year include workshops for hip-hop dance, bucket drumming and beat boxing, a community art project with MonTra Performance, mask-making, street shows and more at the Boulder Public Library, the event’s co-presenter. 1001 Arapahoe Ave. The 10 a.m.-2 p.m. all-ages event is free. boulderfringe.com/family-fringe.
