Wife of Ahmed Bin Quasem, son of top Jamaat leader and convicted war criminal Mir Quasem Ali, filed a general dairy with Pallabi Police Station yesterday a day after some unidentified men allegedly picked him up from his Mirpur DOHS home in the capital.
Tahmina Akhtar, the wife of Ahmed, told The Daily Star that they did not get any information from Pallabi police about Ahmed till 7:25pm yesterday.
Officer-in-Charge Dadon Fakir said, “We are investigating the matter.”
Earlier Tahmina said she saw five people outside the door when she opened it following doorbell around 10:50pm Tuesday.
“As I opened the door, they wanted to know whether Ahmed was at home. My husband wanted to know their identities. But they refused. And at one stage, they asked him to go with them and later took him away forcibly by a white microbus,” she said.
Tahmina also said while leaving, one of them said, “Don't worry. We will return him.”
Ahmed, also a lawyer for his father, met Mir Quasem on August 6 at Kashimpur jail.
