Ambala, August 10

Employees of the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) today took out a protest march here in support of their demands.

They demanded the decision to retrench 20 per cent of the employees should the rolled back immediately. They said since most of the employees had been working for last several years, their services should be regularised.

State vice-president of the Sarv Karamchari Sangh Inder Singh Badhana and a few other union leaders supported the demands of NHRM employees.

The medical services in civil hospitals and primary health centres of the district was affected due to the protest. However, alternative arrangements had been made for smooth functioning of emergency services.
