Rally on Aug 21 to push for toll-free DND Flyway

Rally on Aug 21 to push for toll-free DND Flyway
Noida: A meeting to push for a toll-free DND Flyway was held late on Tuesday at the residence of former minister Nawab Singh Nagar where it was decided that a citizen welfare march (CWM) will be organised on August 21 which will include people from all sections of society and various organisations of Noida. The meeting also discussed modalities of the already announced August 28 protest and the road forward.
"The citizen welfare march to be held on August 21 will include more than 2,000 participants on motorcycles, four wheelers and pedestrians from more than 25-30 organisations such as Noida Entrepreneurs Association (NEA), Maulik Bharat Group, Noida Manch, Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Associations (FONRWA) and various socio-cultural and religious groups," Nagar told TOI.

According to Nagar, the march, which will be held under Janhit Morcha banner on Aug 21, will begin from Sector 32 near ISKCON temple and pass through Harola, Bhangel all the way to Pari Chowk to end at city centre in Greater Noida.
The meeting, convened by Anil Gupta of Janhit Morcha, also decided the modalities of the indefinite agitation to begin on Aug 28 on DND Flyway.
"We have planned nukkad sabhas (street meetings), handing over pamphlets and write-ups on the toll, which is a loot. We will appeal to the public to join the agitation against a toll-free DND," said Nagar.
"As against the primary cost of DND toll bridge of 193 crore, NTBCL has escalated it to 408 crore. To top it all, NTBCL is showing a loss of 3,000 crores in its records," said Nagar.
He adds that despite massive protests, the state government and the Noida Authority is only interested in keeping the matter in a limbo rather than looking for a solution. But people are no longer willing to take this lying down. Hence the protest on Aug 28 on DND will be the start of an indefinite agitation, said Nagar.
