It’s been a long summer for Island truck drivers who are spending more time sitting at the terminal of Northumberland Ferries Ltd in Wood Islands than actually crossing the Strait with their goods.

For Trevor Kearney of Montague, a driver for Island Pulp Producers, his average eight runs per week have been reduced to five or six and he says even that’s pushing it.
