Spiking eCommerce Growth Drives Demand for USPack Logistics Same-Day Courier Services

Same-Day Courier, USPack Logistics Reports Company-Wide Growth; Increased Headcount, Mid-Atlantic and Mid-West Expansion USPack Logistics (www.gouspack.com), a New Spring Holdings portfolio company and leading same-day courier and transportation company, today reported company-wide growth, with significant increases in headcount, geographical footprint and operations.

USPack provides transportation services to ecommerce companies and healthcare organizations whose success depends on special handling and high levels of security. As these sectors have grown in recent years, USPack has established itself as the standard bearer in the same-day courier field, with leading-edge technology, security, and service performance.

In the past five years, USPack has expanded into 21 states and now operates over 800 professional drivers in the US.

"Skyrocketing demand in Maryland, Washington, DC, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Michigan and Ohio necessitated investments in expanded facilities, personnel and technology across the Mid-Atlantic and Mid-Western States," said Mark Glazman, EVP, USPack.

In the Mid-Atlantic region, USPack has grown from 35 delivery trucks in 2010 to a diverse fleet of more than 200 delivering everything from time-critical, temperature sensitive lab specimens to full truckloads of freight. On July 15th, 2016 USPack relocated from Laurel, MD to a new, more modern facility in Elkridge, MD -- quadrupling the space of its original location. Previous expansion in the region included the addition of facilities in Folcroft, PA in 2014, and in Alexandria, VA, in 2015.

USPack entered the Michigan market in July 2015 servicing 150 zip codes and handling an average of 12,000 parcels per week. Today, it services over 300 zip codes and deliver more than 30,000 parcels per week. The increased territory and volumes, resulting from multiple shippers in the ecommerce sector, created an immediate need for a larger cross docking operation.

In Ypsilanti, Michigan, USPack relocated to a more expansive unit at Airport Industrial Park, which is more than triple the size of the previously occupied facility. From this new location, USPack is able to service Detroit, Flint, Ann Arbor, Michigan, as well as Toledo, Ohio. USPack also operates another facility in Grand Rapids, from which it services western Michigan.

Last month, the International Supply Chain Protection Organization (ISCPO) granted USPack Security Certification, making it the first transportation company in history to achieve the highly coveted ISCPO compliance, and reinforcing its unmatched commitment to secure package transport. The ISCPO Carrier Security Audit is a framework for collaboration between customer and service provider, to mitigate risk and provide universal controls when using regional third-party logistics carriers.
