Blackburn's Elliott Bennett ruled out for six weeks

Blackburn have been dealt an injury blow with the news that Elliott Bennett faces around six weeks out.

The midfielder sustained a hamstring strain during the defeat to his former club Norwich on the opening day of the Championship campaign on Saturday and subsequently missed the EFL Cup win at Mansfield.

Speaking after Tuesday night's win at the One Call Stadium, Rovers boss Owen Coyle told the club's official website: "Elliott Bennett is possibly out for four to six weeks with his hamstring from Saturday, so that is a blow."
