Love/Hate star Peter Coonan was spotted on the streets of Wicklow looking very different from bloodthirsty Fran.

The Dublin actor, who played inner city gangster Fran on the RTE crime drama, was photographed on the set of his new movie on Tuesday in Enniskerry, County Wicklow.

Dressed in what appears to be mechanic overalls, Coonan was on location for the second day of shooting the Michael Douglas-produced thriller, We Have Always Lived in the Castle.

The movie also stars Captain America's Sebastian Stan, True Detective and Baywatch star Alexandra Daddario and American Horror Story's Taissa Farmiga.

The movie is based on the 1962-published Shirley Jackson horror novel about an isolated grand, old family which has lost four members of its dynasty to poisoning.

Stan plays a smooth-talking, gold-digging distant cousin whose arrival sets in motion the uncovering of family secrets.

This is the first time the story is being adapted for the screen. It was previously translated into a play as well as a musical.

We Have Always Lived in the Castle is Coonan's first movie since 2015's short Gridlock.
