Dehradun, August 9
Governor Dr KK Paul today released a book titled ‘Uttarakhand: Fifteen Years of Development’ which throws light on the achievements and shortfalls of the hill state which was created in 2000.
Former Chief Secretary Dr RS Tolia has edited the book. It is a collective effort of experts from the field of administration, science and social research.
The book has articles based on people’s personal experiences and expectations from the state. Paul said the book would be an important reference source for policy makers, administrators, academics and any one interested in the state’s development.
He said it was appropriate that at the end of 15 years of existence of the new state, an attempt had been made to assess the achievements and shortcomings in the area of development.
He congratulated Dr Tolia and other contributors. He also congratulated the Centre for Public Policy, Doon University and Doon Library and Research Centre for coming together for this effort and jointly hosting the programme. — TNS
