Victor Sanchez has been sacked as Olympiakos coach after less than two months in charge.

The Spaniard was named as the successor to title-winning boss Marco Silva on June 23, but the Greek champions have now decided to part company with the former Deportivo La Coruna manager.

The move comes after Olympiakos were last week knocked out of the Champions League at the third qualifying round stage by Hapoel Be'er Sheva following a 1-0 aggregate defeat.

A club statement read: "Olympiakos announces the termination of the collaboration with coach Victor Sanchez. The club thanks him and wishes him every success in the future."

Former Spain international Sanchez, who was in charge of Deportivo last season but was sacked following a 15th-placed finish in La Liga, was previously an assistant coach at Olympiakos under Michel.
