In an earlier statement, MMDA chairman Emerson Carlos said over 4,000 Bayan Center and SM Bills Payment outlets nationwide will be accepting payments for traffic violation fines of motorists in the coming months.

The Bayan Center and SM Bills Payment outlets are set to accept the payments of erring motorists even on weekends.

Among the payments that the Bayad Center and SM Bills Payment outlets will be accepting are fines for traffic, littering, jaywalking and no contact apprehension violations, the MMDA said.

The opening Bayad Center Outlets for payment of traffic violation fines was in accordance with a memorandum of agreement that the MMDA entered into with Bayan Center and SM Bills Payment in June.

Meanwhile, the MMDA also reminded the motorists that unsettled fines will result in the non-renewal of driver’s license or non-issuance of registration before the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

Before the opening of Bayad Center and SM outlets, violators could only settle the fines in Metrobank branches and MMDA redemption center. — VVP, GMA News
