Ten Ugandan drivers for Rwanda Rally

National Rally Championship points are up for grabs for five of the drivers

Ten rally drivers will represent Uganda in the Rwanda Gorilla Rally this weekend in Kigali in an event that is the sixth round of the Africa Rally Championship.

The drivers were on Monday afternoon flagged off by Shemmy Ssenkatuka the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda deputy vice president in charge of vintages at a function held at Lugogo.

While handing over the Ugandan flag to the team captain Woi Ismail Lule, Ssenkatuka appealed to the drivers to be disciplined and keep the flag high.   

"We want you to effectively represent Uganda there but most importantly be disciplined and perform," Ssenkatuka stated before handing over the flag to Lule.

The ten drivers are Hassan Alwi, Ismail Otega, Woi Lule, Kepher Walubi, Geoffrey Nsamba, Musa Kabega, Rauf Adam, Wilbert Pole Pole, Jonas Kansiime and Fred Busulwa leave for Rwanda on Tuesday.

Lule, Ortega, Walubi, Kabega and Alwi will be scoring points in the National Rally Championship while others are just gaining exposure and luring their counterparts to participate in the Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally due next month.
