Army gives furniture to GPS Majalta

UDHAMPUR, Aug 8: In an endeavour to promote education in Udhampur, the Army’s 71 Sub Area under its project Sadhbhavna distributed furniture and ancillary items to Govt Primary School, Baryalta, Majalta.
Jasleen Gill, chairperson Family Welfare Organisation (FWO) 71 Sub Area, the chief guest of the event addressed the children, men and women folks of the village and complimented the school for its efforts to give importance for education to girl child.
The people centric approach and concerted drive by the Army to promote education in the region has won accolades from the local population.  Connecting the remote regions to the world through literacy is one of the many such efforts being undertaken by Army under the flagship programme of education for all.
The students of the school presented a colourful cultural programme expressing their gratitude to the Army.  The sarpanch of the village expressed on the noble gesture by the Army that such initiative would go a long way in improving elementary education of children in the village.  The Army has assured continued support on such goodwill projects.
