A motor-cycle borne thief snatched away valuables, totalling 80,000, belonging to Sangeeta Joshi in front of Utkarsh Building in Khare town, on Monday. Sitabuldi cops registered an offence of robbery. Joshi had gone for shopping along with her friend on her two-wheeler. A motorcyclist approached their vehicle when they returning home at Bhagwaghar Layout near Alankar Theatre, and snatched her valuables and fled.
In a separate incident, taking advantage of the crowd in Telakhedi temple, three women stole valuables, worth 60,000, belonging to Alka Joshi of Pratap Nagar, on Monday. Ambazari cops registered an offence. Cops are studying CCTV footages from the sanctum sanctorum where the theft took place.
Valuables, cash stolen from house
Miscreants decamped with valuables and cash totalling 41,000 from an under-construction house, at Narmada Colony near Saibaba School on Saturday. Gittikhadan police registered an offence of theft following a complaint filed by Raju Khobragde (36). In his complaint, Khobragade said that thief stole a gold chain and cash of 25,000 from a bag, which was kept in the kitchen, at midnight.
Country-made firearm seized from goon
Nandanvan police arrested 21-year-old hard-core criminal Sheikh Imran alias Monu, during patrolling in the vicinity Baba Taj Nagar Masjid on Sunday. Cops seized a countrymade Mauser, worth 15,000, from his possession. Monu tried to escape but was caught by the police.
Hawkers held for assaulting shop owner
A shop owner and his son were beaten up by a group of hawkers on Sitabuldi market on Saturday following an incident of road rage. Sitabuldi police arrested three persons. Protesting the incident, a delegation of shop-owners met Sitabuldi police station in-charge SM Bandiwar and also kept their shops closed in the first half of the day. Nishank Modi and his father Prasanna were returning home when their two-wheeler hit another leading to a heated exchange. The verbal duel soon flared up into a scuffle when the hawkers also joined in the fracas. The hawkers continued to vent their anger on the father-son duo leaving them injured. The persons nabbed have been identified as Sumeet Zilhare (24), Suraj Dhunde (22) and Kunal Rangari (21).
