It was a night to remember for winner Sayantika Saha Bhadra, first runner up Shivani Michelle Baker and second runner up Rukhsar Yesmin at the finale of the Pond’s BB+ Femina Style Diva-East, in association with Audi and Reliance Trends, powered by Shivtara, held in Guwahati.
The three divas were chosen from 14 very stylish contestants by a jury that had actor Mumtaz Sorcar, singer-actor Zubeen Garg, beauty expert Priscilla Corner, cosmetologist Dr Madhu Chopra and Femina’s deputy editor Urvashi Pant.
“I’m absolutely speechless. It’s such an honour to win this title,” said Sayantika, who impressed the jury with her near-flawless catwalk skills and presence of mind in the QnA round. The 21-year-old, who is studying for the MBA entrance exams, hopes to become a model and entrepreneur in the future.
The spectacular finale at Radisson Blu hotel -- a mix of entertainment, glamour and style –was the culmination of three grueling days of training and grooming for the contestants. During the finale, they walked the ramp wearing stunning saris by Payal Chaddha, casual wear by Reliance Trends, beautiful kurtis from Jashn and evening gowns by designer Kommal Sood. After the four rounds the top 7 contestants were quizzed by the jury on everything from their style sensibilities to their fashion quotient.
The show was hosted by Pamela Singh Bhutoria, who ensured that the audience was kept entertained throughout the evening. The crowd got a special treat with vocalist Joshua Queah belting out his version of Hotel California and a rocking dance performance by the dance troupe Beat Bluster Dance Company.
