Oman tourism: Number of visitors to Salalah Tourism Festival tops 1 million

Salalah: More than 1,195,047 tourists visited Salalah by August 6, 2016, according to the Municipality Recreation Centre.
Abdullah bin Ali Al Muqadam, Director of Salalah Tourism Festival Department, said that the activities of the 2016 festival continued for the fourth successive week amidst remarkable turn out of both Omanis and expatriates.
He added that the number of visitors is showing a constant growth. About 2.5 million had visited the region last year. He stressed the importance of the festival in creating job opportunities for Omanis and business opportunities for others. The festival started on July 15, will run until August 31.
