Jammu, August 8

The Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers’ Party (JKNPP) today staged a demonstration outside the divisional office of the Power Development Department (PDD) against the “unprecedented” power cuts and voltage fluctuations in the entire region.

JKNPP activists launched a scathing attack on the state government for its alleged failure to provide relief to the people of the Jammu region from the ongoing power crisis. They also raised slogans.

Led by party chairman Harsh Dev Singh, protesters said the power crisis had made the life of common man miserable across the Jammu region.

Addressing the gathering, Harsh Dev Singh said scheduled and unscheduled power cuts during scorching summer had thrown life out of gear in both urban and rural areas with grievances of people going unheard and unaddressed.

He regretted that leaders of the saffron party had failed to project the concerns of the people.
