A board at KEB Hana Bank in downtown Seoul on Monday shows the Kospi closing at a year-high record of 2,031.12 after gaining more than half a percent, or 13.18 points, from the previous trading day. This is the first time in eight months that the Kospi has passed the 2,030 mark. The favorable growth was largely thanks to improved sentiment over the global market, especially after a new U.S. jobs report showed increased employment in July. [NEWSIS]
