Japan’s M3 form JV with HealthCare atHOME to launch a news platform for Indian doctors

India’s HealthCare atHOME (HCAH) has announced its plans to launch an Internet-based healthcare service in the country in partnership with Japanese healthcare media major M3 Inc.

The partnership aims to provide an online and mobile platform for doctors to stay connected to news, best practices, innovations, and the latest research from global peers and experts.

The digital platform aimed at the healthcare community will also offer customised and continued medical education(CME) that will help improve practices, and also improve patient care in the long-term.

The new entity will work closely with other key players in the healthcare sector, including pharma companies, hospitals and the government to improve the quality of communication and dissemination of relevant medical information amongst various stakeholders in the healthcare fraternity.

M3 is listed on the Tokyo stock exchange with over US$10 billion in market capitalisation, and offers a wide range of value add services to pharmaceutical companies and hospital clients globally. The company will introduce several of these services to the Indian market.

HCAH and M3 expect the growth of the market for digital marketing of pharmaceutical products to exceed US$360 million by 2020. M3 has a successful track record in Japan, the US, Korea, the UK and China.

With this partnership, M3 will now directly cover countries inhabited by roughly 3.3 billion people or 40 per cent of the world’s population.
